Band Profiles

Jacob Reid

Vocals / Guitar

Moving to the Gold Coast from his native New Zealand, where he was a full time musician, Jake is loving his new lifestyle and rocking out with the Sector 7G boys.

Honing his skills as guitarist/singer/songwriter for originals band LAPSER and cvoers band ELEVEN11, Jake has developed a big vocal and guitar sound. Coupled with an energetic stage presence, he is one of the best front men on the local live music scene.

Nick White

Bass Guitar / Backing Vocals

Nick began his music career as a classically trained pianist before turning to drums and playing in Brisbane band "Run For Cover". Following this, Nick discovered a talent for playing bass and has been doing so since 2000. A Victorian expat, Nick played with the 'Paralytic Wombats' and the 'Boundary Riders' enjoying residencies at legendary Melbourne venues The Tote and The Royal Derby.

Since relocating to the Gold Coast, Nick has played with 'Animal' and 'Pump Action', playing residencies at venues such as the Coolangatta Sands, Parkwood Tavern, Rose and Crown, Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, Diamonds Tavern, Finn McCool's and many more venues in SE Qld / Northern NSW.

Don Macarthur

Originally from Sydney, Don studied guitar full time at London's prestigious Guitar Institute, earning a 'distinction' in the Certificate In Popular Music Performance. While in the UK, Don played with popular South Coast covers band 'Audiosonic'.

Upon returning to Australia, Don enjoyed a brief stint with legendary Cairns covers band 'N.F.L' before relocating to the Gold Coast.

In his time on the Gold Coast, Don has played with popular covers band 'Animal' and duo 'Blissfully Ignorant' as well as being in high demand as a guitar teacher with leading local music schools Kids On Keys and Music Express.

Anders (Arno) Cassidy

Drums / Random Acts of Weirdness

Arno has drumming in his blood from his father, who was a professional drummer and tutor. Drumming (guitaring/tromboning) from the age of 5, he has continued to play all percussion forms and has been involved in active bands in Newcastle (while at the Newcastle Music Conservatorium), and Lismore NSW where he studied percussion at the Contemporary Souther Cross Uni.

The combination of Arno's technique, feel and passion for the world's variety of musical influences suits the tight knit and high energy feel of Sector 7G.
